The Backbone of the Operation

D’Artagnan “D”

I am playful and courageous and grew up on the farm since I was four months old. I got my name from the mustache on my muzzle. I love to explore places and having fun with my herd mates. You will find me leading the front, on a trail ride. My registered name is “Smart N’ Zipped,” American Paint Horse Association (APHA). (Photo Credit: Amanda Fowlkes)

Leonidas “Leo”

I came to farm when I was 9 months old and grew up here. I like long walks on the beach and to charm the mares. I have a laid-back personality. My partner in crime is Maximus, we are the “Blue Eyed Bandits.” I am very curious and try to be helpful around the farm. My register name is “VSH Temprano,” Spotted Draft Sport Horse (SDSH).

Maximus “Peanut”

I have been on the farm since I was four months old. The horse with nine lives and part Houdini. I am the smallest horse in the herd but have the biggest heart in trying. I am very friendly, and I like to make friends with everyone. I am also brave and adventurous, just like my older brother D’Artagnan. My register name is “Absolootly Smart,” American Paint Horse Association (APHA). (Photo Credit: Amanda Fowlkes)

Bjorn

I have been on the farm since I was four months old. I am a draft cross, a mix of Belgium and Quarter Horse. I am the leader of my herd, as well the tallest, and the strongest. But I am also very gentle and friendly. I have an older sister, Gretchen, who lives here too. (Photo Credit: Amanda Fowlkes)

Gretchen “Boss Mare”

I came to the farm when I was four months old and grew up here. I am a draft cross, a Belgium/Quarter Horse. I may be the boss (lead mare in the herd), but I am fair and firm. My caregiver thinks I have excellent leadership skills and extremely smart. I know how to open stall doors and turn the key to the mule, to start the engine. Bjorn is my little brother. “Bijou” of the Lily

I came to the farm when I was four months old, the same time with my half-sister Gretchen and we grew up here together. I am a draft cross, a Percheron/Thoroughbred/Quarter Horse. I am super sweet, not in a hurry to get anywhere, but very patient. I love hugs, being brushed and muzzle kisses on my nose. Khalessi and Bjorn are my half siblings as well. Khalessi

I came to the farm when I was nine months old and grew up here. Gretchen and Bijou are my half-sisters, while Bjorn is my half little brother. I am a draft cross, a Belgium/Quarter Horse. I am second in command of the herd and love “scratches,” especially on my booty. My caregiver thinks I exceptionally good at Liberty work. (Photo Credit: Amanda Fowlkes)

Sansa

I was purchased when I was two days old and grew up here on the farm. I am a draft cross, a Shire/Thoroughbred/Paint. I am very independent and observant. I have a quick mind, but love my quality time, that is, just you and I. My register name is “VSH Gossip Girl,” Shire Sport Horse Registry (SSHR). (Picture Credit: Amanda Fowlkes)

Darbie

I came to the farm when I was five months old, with my half sister Addie, and we grew up here together. I am quiet but loving. I am smart and like to stand next to you, wherever you are. My register name is “Dun Crush’n,” American Paint Horse Association (APHA). (Photo Credit: Amanda Fowlkes)

Addie “Stilettos”

I came to the farm, the same time with my half-sister Darbie, at four months old, and we grew up here together. I am super sweet, love hugs, scratches, nose muzzle kisses. I am western Pleasure bred, as my walk and built give me a way. I am an extremely smooth ride, no spilling wine here. My register name is “Major Crush,” American Paint Horse Association (APHA).
